Godfrey Street is located between Spencer and King streets, extending north from Little Collins Street through to Bourke Street. The site is framed by the heritage-listed Melbourne Tramway and Omnibus Company building, and the well-known ‘bomb-site’ Savoy Tavern. With the Tramway’s building now owned and managed by the Donkey Wheel organisation, and housing a range of social enterprises, there is an opportunity to activate the lane, provide open green space in the city, and fulfill the objectives of the City’s Urban Forest Strategy.
